Ogum Day: Sympathies to have more courage in life
to open the way
On Ogun Day, focus on the vibrations of this mighty orixá warrior for more courage. Take a blank sheet of paper and with a pencil write your full name 3 times in a row, one below the other. Just below your name, write your wish and the situation in which you seek more courage. Wrap this ritual in a sheet of St. George’s Sword. Still with the ritual in hand, recite a prayer and offer it to Ogun. Place this sheet with the Sword of St. George sheet for a road or railway line. This will help open new paths.
For success and courage
At 7pm on Ogum Day, cut an avocado in half and remove the pit. Pass the palm oil on the avocado pulp. Place the two halves on an unused plate and, in the center, light a dark blue candle. Then repeat: “Ogunhê, Ogun patacori, Orisha who is great and who answers the requests of her children. Hail holy warrior. I (pronounce your full name three times), summon your strength, your light and your protection, and I ask, my father, with all faith in my heart, to pave the way for me, so that I can find a job. May I get a decent, healthy and profitable job. Thank you my father, Sarava Ogum”. When the candle goes out, leave the avocado at the foot of a tree. Throw the remaining candle in the trash. The plate can be washed and used normally.
Amulet to walk together with courage
On Ogum Day, unfold a navy blue cloth and add 1 Bay Leaf, 1 Guinea Branch, 1 Miniature Steel Sword, 1 Arruda Branch, 1 Clove, 1 Coarse Salt Stone, 1 Clove of leek and 1 coffee bean. Ask Ogun for protection, courage and strength, then close the cloth and always carry this amulet with you.
Ogun bath
Boil two liters of water and add seven cloves, seven red carnation petals, seven handfuls of basil and seven drops of your favorite perfume. Between 2.00pm and 8.00pm on the day of Ogun, take your hygienic bath and then bathe yourself with this ritual from the neck down. Do not dry your body with a towel, let it dry naturally. What is left of this bath should be thrown into a garden or thrown into running water.
