Test: Guess the famous Soviet film by the credits!

Have you ever wondered why, in Soviet films, the credits were at the beginning and not at the end of the film?

It was explained very simply: they wanted to tell the public who had worked on the film. This was considered a rule of courtesy to the actors and others involved in the creation of the film – after all, no one, neither in the days of the USSR, nor now, will stick around to read the list of names after having watched the movie.

The titles themselves were a true work of art – everything was thought of: music, font, composition. Some directors inserted jokes: for example, Georgy Danelia included in the list of actors involved in episodic roles, the mysterious R. Khobua, whom no one had ever seen.

When reporters noticed this and asked the director why he was doing this, Danelia said it was her casual acquaintance: Georgy read the script for his new movie to a Georgia builder named Rene Hobua, and when the tape successful, he made Hobua his lucky talisman.

Interesting story, right? But to pass our test, you don’t need to know that. Everything is much simpler – look at the credits and try to guess from their style which movie they are from.
