How about a special place in the kitchen where you can store, in a very practical and safe way, fruit and vegetables that you don’t need or that don’t need to go in the fridge? fruit plants they’re always a dilemma because, in many cases, they take up space and their size gets in the way. Not to mention that, being padded, they can accelerate the maturation or preservation of food.

Because of these factors, the duo at Studio Tan-gram are adept at the joinery designed to include the fruit bowl. Along with the decision of best place to install the drawerrecommends the use of a good hardware to guarantee the complete opening of the drawer, without worrying about movements and weight.

In another project created by the duo from Studio Tan-gram, the fruit bowl is integrated into the central worktop of the kitchen, in a point of view and easy to access.

“In their positioning, we privilege cooler and more ventilated environments for storage, as well as a larger structure and an impeccable finish of the drawers”, emphasizes Claudia.

2. Pantry in the built-in wardrobe

“In this apartment, the request for a good pantry prompted us to design this piece of furniture, next to the refrigerator, where the residents can organize various objects on the shelves,” reveals architect Claudia Yamada, from Studio Tan-gram, about the project.

A food storage It is a much sought-after resource for storing supermarket purchases, but not all properties have a small room adjacent to the kitchen or sufficient area dedicated to it.

The main idea was to leave the pantry with easy and practical mechanisms for opening and closing its doors, one deeper and the other shallower, like that of a common wardrobe. Another charm of the piece is the absence of any apparent knobs or handles, leaving the asset with a discreet and elegant finish. With this solution created by Studio Tan-gram, the apartment has gained more space and freed the wardrobes from overloading, providing an excellent and discreet division of the kitchen.

In this recurring scenario in compact apartments, Claudia and Monike find the solution to house the main elements in the carpentry: in this kitchen they have transformed the built-in wardrobes, which cover the walls and house the refrigerator, into a large pantry full of compartments!

3. Closet, hutch or island

Located at the top of the cabinet, the porcelain sideboard has white joinery, as opposed to the blue found mostly in the kitchen joinery. With this balance, Claudia and Monike, from Studio Tan-gram, have created an elaborate and relaxed aesthetic game that dialogues with the composition of the tiles chosen for the pediment.

Integrated social areas are increasingly recurring in interior architecture projects, which include the kitchen with the living room or the balcony. To ensure that, even without walls as a dividing tool, the rooms are delimited, it is interesting to create an island or insert furniture to compartmentalize the spaces, for example.

The inclusion of the charming piece of furniture has conceived a well-established division between the environments, while maintaining integration.

To make the connection with the environment, in the following project, the architects of Studio Tan-gram proposed an island made up of a bench for quick meals, sideboards and a showcase on top.

4.plants

The natural elements add a beautiful effect to the kitchen decor. Like this project by Studio Tan-gram, which involved a suspended shelf, made of metal, to display the species of the residents.

The enthusiasm of residents for the inclusion of plants in their homes is growing, after all bringing nature closer brings innumerable emotional benefits. Not to mention the furnishings, which acquire new contours with the plants present in the environment!

A piece of advice shared by architects Claudia and Monike is to propose a mix of species, choosing plants with different types of foliage, sizes and colours! Therefore, the kitchen will earn different levels of appreciation.

For the composition with plants, it is worth investing in both showy vases and more discreet vases, depending on the project in question. Also, the natural elements in the decor convey intimacy and leave the space with a more sensory “that”.

5. Tiles as a covering

With geometric and colorful tiles, the gable cladding done by Studio Tan-gram evokes a visual unity between the kitchen and the service area, which are integrated in this project! The tiles also gave the feeling of spaciousness.

With the application of tiles, it is possible to conceive countless combinations, considering the variety of formats, designs and colors available on the market. The backsplash is also a great choice: by covering the area behind the stove, the resident gets an aesthetic and practical touch when cleaning that surface. Also, the cost is lower, as the coated area is relatively small.
