Cybershots, those little cameras that have remained famous in the 2000s, are back! Like many items from this era, they are back with so much more Vintage AND Cold with Y2K fashion, since we are in the era of technological gadgets and large professional cameras.

For the photographer Higor Blanco, specialist in street style, cybershots are practical and portable, but they are not a substitute for the work and experience of a professional. They also have the advantage, nowadays, of having updates for the changing needs of photographers.

“I had my first contact with photography through these cameras, but the models that are making a comeback are more suited to today’s needs, such as YouTube and other social networks. good and very practical camerasince it is not always possible to carry large equipment, so you can take it for walks and not attract attention,” explains Higor.

Trends on the Internet, they have been widely used by young people who are part of generation Z. The photographer says that cameras, despite their advantages, also have some disadvantages.

“It’s ideal for a moment with family or friends, in an informal and amateur way, or even for cultural outings where it is not possible to bring professional equipment. But their image quality is nowhere near that of a professional camera. Even if you ask a family member or friend to take a picture of you and they know some techniques, it won’t be the same. I see it in a positive way, but focused on a more personal use,” he says.

Cybershot VS Smartphones

But in the end: with such advanced smartphones, would cybershots still have a place? For Higor, yes! After all, the big problem with cell phones is flash, which is better on these cameras. “In fact, cell phone cameras are getting better and better, but continue to sin in the lightning. When I take a photo with my cell phone, I can see it clearly, especially if it was taken at night. The quality is not very good and that is a big disadvantage,” she explains.
