BANANA CHIPS

Banana Chips:
- 2 green bananas (small, silver or ground), sliced - see recipe.
- salt
- sweet paprika (optional)
- Oil
PRE-PREPARATION:
- Separate recipe ingredients and utensils.
- Grease the pan(s) with a drizzle of oil.
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
PREPARATION:
Banana Chips:
- Peel the bananas and place them on a cutting board.
- Grease your hands and a knife or mandoline (optional) with a drizzle of oil to prevent them from sticking to the banana glue.
- Cut the bananas into very thin slices or into slices lengthwise, about 1 mm thick.
- Arrange the banana slices or slices on the baking sheet(s), without overlapping them.
- Brush a little more oil on the bananas.
- Place in a preheated oven at 180°C.
- Bake for about 20 minutes, or until dry and crispy – this time may vary by oven.
- A test to see if they are ready is that they are well browned and that the edges are slightly raised.
- Remove from the oven and while still hot, season with salt and paprika (optional).
- Transfer to a rack to dry and get even more crispy.
FINISHING AND ASSEMBLY:
- Serve the banana chips as an accompaniment to your main course or as an appetizer with your favorite dips.
- If you keep them, put them completely cold, in airtight jars.
