Don’t Do This Or You’ll Regret It: Why You Shouldn’t Wash Floors With Hot Water

Even experienced housewives make this mistake, but you should not use high temperature water for cleaning. And that’s why.

Everyone knows that hot water washes everything perfectly – under its influence fat dissolves and dirt disappears. Usually in the shower we try to make the water warmer – this is not only comfortable, but also helps the products to lather well, which has a beneficial effect on the skin. Likewise, it would never occur to anyone to wash the dishes in cold water – it just won’t wash!

It seems that there should be the same logic in cleaning: if you use a floor cleaner, you must use lukewarm water, and the result will be excellent. And here that is not the case.

If you wash the floor with hot, very lukewarm water, it will dry very quickly. And if a product is added to the water, it will remain on the surface as streaks and plaques. Therefore, you should not use high temperature water to wash the floor, the result will be poor.

In case the floor is very dirty, it really makes sense to use hot water – but in this case you will have to wash everything again with cold water to remove traces of detergent and what has dried too quickly. This rule applies in all cases: both when washing by hand, and when washing with a mop or mop. And it is worth pouring only cold water into the robot vacuum mop, then the quality of its cleaning will be better.

A steam mop, on the other hand, works on a different principle, so when using it, the floor remains really clean after exposure to high temperatures.
