The American platform Hulu has officially renewed the miniseries “Nine Perfect Strangers” for a second season. With its debut in 2021, the production broke audience records, becoming the most watched series in streaming.
The new episodes will feature the return of Nicole Kidman as lead character and executive producer, as well as several new characters, who will play her new clients.
New cast members will include veteran Swedish star Liv Ullman (“Autumn Sonata”), Emmy winner Murray Bartlett (“The White Lotus”), Dolly de Leon (“Triangle of Sorrows”), Maisie Richardson-Sellers ( “Legends of Tomorrow” ) and Turkish Aras Aydin (“Two Kinds of People”). At the moment, the details of their roles have not been revealed.

Based on Liane Moriarty’s work of the same name, the series explored topics such as spiritual retreats, gurus and mental health in the first season. The production is by David E. Kelley, who was responsible for the adaptation of another book by Moriarty: “Big Little Lies”, on HBO, also starring Nicole Kidman.
The story accompanies nine people who decide to spend ten days in a spa town far from civilization, without a car or cell phone, in search of a change in their lives and in their health. Faced with unusual situations, they begin to question how far they should submit to what is required of them, fostering an atmosphere of tension and suspense in the distant place.
Nicole Kidman plays the spa owner, who in Season 1 was played by Melissa McCarthy (“Thunder Squadron”), Michael Shannon (“The Shape of Water”), Regina Hall (“Girls Trip”), Samara Weaving (“Bloy Wedding” ), Luke Evans (“Fast & Furious 6”), Bobby Cannavale (“The Irishman”), Tiffany Boone (“Hunters”), Manny Jacinto (“The Good Place”), Melvin Gregg (“America vs. Billie Holiday” “), Asher Keddie (“Zero State”) and Grace Van Patten (“The Meyerowitzes: A Family Is Not Chosen”).
In Brazil, the first season of “Nove Desconhecidos” was distributed by Amazon Prime Video.
