Blender Pie – Cornmeal Dough – (use a 190 ml American cup as the standard measure):

  • 1/3 cup cornmeal + a little for sprinkling the mold
  • 1/3 cup wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup oil + a little to grease the pan
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1/4 grated parmesan (optional)
  • â…“ clove of peeled garlic (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • salt
  • pepper

Finish

  • grated parmesan to taste.

PRE-PREPARATION:

  1. Separate recipe utensils and ingredients.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  3. Sift the cornmeal, flour and cornstarch into a bowl.
  4. Grease the refractory or rectangular shape with oil and sprinkle with cornmeal.

PREPARATION:

Blender Cake – Cornmeal Dough:

  1. In the blender, place the egg, milk, oil, salt, pepper and garlic (optional) and beat to blend.
  2. Add the Parmesan (optional) and beat again.
  3. Gradually add the sifted cornmeal, flour, and cornstarch mixture, beating until it forms a smooth mass — if your blender can’t handle it, do this process in a bowl.
  4. Turn off the blender and incorporate the yeast.
  5. In a bowl, mix the filling ingredients (if it’s a cold filling).
  6. Filled with your favorite ingredients – the cake can be assembled in 3 variations:
    1. Put half of the dough in the mold and cover the entire bottom, distribute the filling and cover with the other part of the dough, flatten again.
    2. Put all the dough into the mould, flatten and distribute the filling on top.
    3. In a bowl, mix the filling with the dough, put it in the mold and level it.
  7. Finish with grated Parmesan (optional).
  8. Take it to the preheated oven at 180°C and cook it for 30-40 minutes or the time necessary for it to be golden on the surface and completely cooked.
  9. To make sure the cake is cooked through, insert a toothpick into the center of the cake, if it comes out clean it’s done.

FINISHING AND ASSEMBLY:

  1. Cut the blender cake – cornmeal dough into small pieces, serve in the refractory/s or in the mould/s.
  2. Serve hot as a single dish or side dish or, if you prefer, cold as a savory snack.
