Ingredients Sweet red popcorn – see shopping list HERE

  • ¼ cup (tea) of popcorn corn (1 cup = 200 g)
  • 2 and a half tablespoons of oil
  • ½ cup currants (tea)
  • ¼ cup (tea) sugar

PRE-PREPARATION:

  1. Separate recipe utensils and ingredients.
  2. To make this recipe, first place the popcorn in the microwave or pan (see preparation).

PREPARATION:

Red sweet popcorn:

  1. Start by popping the popcorn:
  2. Place the popcorn and oil in a skillet, cover, and turn the heat to medium-high.
  3. Stir the pan occasionally until all the corn pops.
  4. In another pan mix the currants with the sugar and simmer, stirring, until they reach the tip of the filo – if you have a cooking thermometer, it should reach 120°C.
  5. At the right point, the syrup will be thicker and you will be able to see the bottom of the pan as you pass the spatula.
  6. Put out the fire.
  7. Then mix the currant syrup with the popped popcorn and mix well to coat it completely.
  8. Remove from the pan and let cool so they are very crispy and do not get sticky.

FINISHING AND ASSEMBLY:

  1. Serve in a bowl or distribute in paper bags.
