6 tips for those who have just entered menopause
A formula that claims to be natural, but doesn’t tell you what it has. Several promises to improve women’s health by taking just 20 drops a day to fill women suffering from a serious problem: infertility with illusions.
This obscure marketing is one of the mottos of the Vita Baby Drops product, which continues to spread on social networks, even with the ban by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), last March. On Tik Tok, there is a flood of oral solution videos, totaling 7.9 million views.
“The product doesn’t say what’s on the label, but it says it’s natural. It is necessary to beware of miraculous promises, especially with such a serious problem as infertility. Nutritional deficiencies can be one of the problems involved in the difficulty of getting pregnant, however it is not always the only one and even if it is, it is necessary to investigate to find out what these deficiencies are. There are macro and micronutrients that help improve fertility and there is no magic formula”, underlines Fernando Prado, specialist in human reproduction, member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and clinical director of new life.
“It’s also not because it’s natural that the product can’t cause problems. The fact of omitting the formulation already makes the product dangerous for allergic patients”, adds the doctor.
Infertility is on the rise worldwide
Infertility is a growing problem all over the world. According to the World Health Organization, one in six people are infertile.
“Those who do not get pregnant within a year definitely have reproductive health or fertility problems and should seek specialist help. Age is the most common cause of fertility problems in women, but both partners should have a fertility assessment, because there are also male causes,” Fernando points out.
This, incidentally, is a marketing problem for this type of product: it reinforces infertility as an exclusively female problem.
“We must always understand that the analysis must be complete, in the couple, with tests to identify the ovarian reserve, sperm count, analysis of the tubes, of the endometrium, among others,” says the doctor.
Natural cures that improve reproductive health
According to Fernando Prado, there are also natural treatments that can improve reproductive health, such as:
- • Do not smoke or drink;
- • Maintain an adequate body weight;
- • Get 6 to 8 hours of quality sleep;
- • Exercise regularly, but do not overdo it;
- • Taking supplements containing folic acid and other vitamins (guided by an expert);
- • Limit ultra-processed meat in your diet.
“But assisted reproductive techniques such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) are also a possibility. In vitro fertilization may be the first choice in some cases. But, above all, the important thing is to seek a specialist and not give up on the dream of starting a family. Medicine has evolved a lot, allowing for new ways to improve reproductive health,” says the doctor.
Allegations considered “absurd”
In addition to promising pregnancy, the “miracle drops” promise to cure endometriosis, fibroids and even reverse tubal ligation.
“Tubic ligation is a definitive sterilization technique, which can only be reversed with surgery or by achieving a pregnancy through IVF. To say 20 drops can make a lacquered woman pregnant borders on embezzlement,” says the doctor.

Also, endometriosis, for example, is a serious disease with female fertility.
“It’s the root cause, included. Endometriosis is an inflammatory disease that occurs when the cells of the endometrium, the tissue that lines the inner wall of the uterus, instead of being eliminated during menstruation, move in the opposite direction, falling inside the abdomen and implanting itself in internal organs and tissues. It is related to fertility, because these cells spread throughout the reproductive system, making it difficult for the fertilization of the egg to implantation of the embryo,” says the doctor.
Symptoms overlooked
The number of women with endometriosis currently may be higher than reported because, to date, the symptoms of the disease have been overlooked, leading to an underdiagnosis scenario.
“Endometriosis has as its main symptom intense pelvic pain during menstruation, which is usually not paid attention to because it is confused with menstrual cramps. This causes the diagnosis of the condition to be made very late, when women have difficulty getting pregnant,” explains Fernando.
Women with endometriosis may need surgery and other treatments. “In order to get pregnant, IVF may be required. Always look for a specialist”, concludes Fernando Prado.
