Meloni has ordered the Tirana Embassy to pay for the restaurant
The Italian Embassy in Tirana, Albania, said this Friday (18) that it had paid the bill that a group of Italian tourists left in a restaurant in the country, by order of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
“Italians respect the rules and pay their debts, let’s hope that episodes like this don’t happen again”, concluded the diplomatic mission in a statement.
The episode took place this week, while the prime minister was on holiday with his family in Albania at the invitation of the country’s prime minister, Edi Rama.
The episode was revealed by the Albanian leader in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Stampa: “When they mentioned the episode of the Italians who fled from the restaurant, everyone laughed. Release a statement! Italy must not lose respect for the abroad'”. .
