Frequency of training among Brazilians

The survey carried out by Athletic revealed that 38% of Brazilians do physical activity two or three times a week

With important information on the habits of Brazilian people in relation to exercises, as well as the main reasons that push them to adhere to this practice, the study underlined that the percentage of practitioners of physical activities increased between the years 2009 and 2020, reaching 30 .3% in 2009 and 36.8% in 2020.

The data comes from the survey “Estimates on the frequency and socio-demographic distribution of the practice of physical activity in the capitals of the 26 Brazilian states and in the Federal District” between 2006 and 2020, by the Ministry of Health.

After all, how many times a week should you exercise?

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), adults are recommended to get 150 to 300 minutes of moderate physical activity or 75 to 150 minutes of vigorous physical activity weekly.

This data is intended to promote health and well-being by providing clear guidance on how much exercise is needed to achieve benefits for body and mind.

It’s worth mentioning that moderate physical activity ranges from a brisk walk to a dance class, an elliptical session, or a light bike ride. In this case the intention is to increase heart rate and breathing.

Intense practices, on the other hand, involve exercises such as running, vigorous swimming and high-speed cycling, which significantly increase the heart rate and make it difficult to talk during physical activity.

The important thing is to strike a balance and choose activities that fit your lifestyle and individual preferences.
