The Town: Everything you need to survive a full day of festivals

The Municipality is already close and I don’t know about you, but here we are counting the days! This will be the first edition of the festival in São Paulo organized by the creators of Rock In Rio and it already promises everything. On 2, 3, 7, 9 and 10 March artists such as Post Malone, Demi Lovato and foo fighters will go up on the (various) stages of the festival.

I think you have everything ready to embark on the Interlagos Autodrome. However, we’ve come with a list of essentials if you’re spending the whole day in The Town.

In order not to fill your backpack with useless things, we’ll tell you what you can’t leave aside. Let’s go!

essential items

There was no way not to start this list with your docs! To participate in the event you must have your identity card, student card (if you have purchased the half-fare ticket) and other personal documents with you.

Also, make sure you download the app with your last minute ticket! To participate in the event open the Quetro application and select the ticket for the day of the festival you will be attending. Position your mobile screen with the QR code portion facing the reader on the side of the turnstile. It’s ready!

Important: We know that the internet around the Interlagos Circuit can be very slow on festival days. So be careful! An internet connection is required for the first access to the tickets in the app, but once the ticket is stored in the app you will not need active internet on your smartphone. Conclusion: open your ticket before leaving home.

Can I take the marmitinha?

While there’s no official information on what you can (or can’t) bring to The Town on the festival’s website, we follow the pattern of other events of this type. This way you can, but it has limitations. Processed foods must be sealed, including crackers, cookies, snacks, and granola bars.

Today, what if you want to get something fresher? In this case cut fruit is allowed.

Bottles, cans, drinks, storage utensils, rigid containers with lids are prohibited. I mean, don’t get that Tupperware your mom likes! It’s worth mentioning that the event will have a food court, but if you want to save on expenses, bring some snacks (sealed, see?) to consume during the day.

Now yes: survival kit

Okay, we’ve covered the basics of the basics. Now we need to talk about those extras (albeit necessary) to ensure your comfort throughout the day. To protect yourself from the sun, don’t forget to bring sunscreen (not aerosol!), sunglasses and a cap or hat to ease the heat a bit. Also, even with no rain forecast for the days of the festival, it’s always good to be safe and carry a raincoat in your bag.

Another super important thing to take with you are the famous sarongs or towels! It’s great when you decide to take a little rest. Just stretch out and sit on the grass.

And of course: don’t forget to bring along a portable charger to make sure you have enough battery to record all the shows.

Finally, a tip for anyone who wears trainers or any shoe that risks hurting the heel, carry plasters with you in your bag to avoid discomfort in the area. And voilà, you’re ready for The Town!
