To make the best use of each space, some practices are welcome, such as the location vases hung on the walls and ceilinggrouped on the ground, on specific wooden or metal supports, with the use of shelves, or even with the creation of a beautiful green wall.

Pay attention to the size of the plant

Design by Bia Hajnal.

Give preference to plants that do not reach great heights. Therefore, before buying, always ask what is the maximum height that that species can reach. Pruning, when necessary, is also a good alternative.

Choose the species carefully

Look for small plants that are easy to care for (especially if the residents aren’t staying home for a short time). Among the examples there are those that need less frequent watering and adapt easily, that is, they do well in mixed environments, of light and shade, for example.

There are a large number of species that can live in apartments, examples include peace lilies, boa constrictors, begonias, various succulents, mini rose and cactus bushes, zamioculcas, maidenhair ferns, peperomias, among many others. It is also interesting to create a mix of different sizes, colors and formats, to make the environment even more cheerful.

lighting is important

Project by Marcela Martins.

In internal areas, try to leave plants closer to windows or open areas so they will grow healthily (provided that the water and electricity needs of each are respected). If the apartment has a balcony, this space is worth exploring to the fullest!

lights for the night

When the subject is artificial lights – for the night time period, a late afternoon or a cloudy day – the LED technology is a great ally because, in addition to being cheaper and more sustainable, it doesn’t emit heatwhich favors that the petals and leaves are not burned by the light beams.

Among the most suitable pieces for plant lighting are the versatile ones points of overlap (directly on the ceiling or on rails). For those who prefer something cleaner, small ceiling lights with mini dichroic lamps or AR-70, transform the contrast of light and dark into a more inviting place. Other pieces such as table, floor or pendant lamps can also be used, as when harmoniously combined, they bring functionality and beauty to the decor.

Get the right color temperature

To further enhance the beauty of the plants, the use of a softer light is indicated, which brings even more warmth. Therefore, warm white color temperature lighting (2700K to 3000K) is a great choice.

irc and colors

Project by Djanira Cabral.

When choosing the lamp that will be close in species, check the color rendering index (CRI) of the product. Therefore, they do not undergo tonal variations, nor do they lose their authenticity, depending on the ambient lighting. Important: The closer to 100, the more faithful the color will be represented. However, products with a CRI above 80 already have excellent quality.
