One of the biggest misconceptions is thinking that all marbles are identical. The diversity of options is impressive, as different deposits, spread across the world, offer significant variations in color, porosity and appearance.
“The inclusion of this material requires an in-depth analysis of the context in which it will be inserted, since each space has different needs in terms of resistance and style”, underlines Renata Iervolino.
Look at the example of the fireplace above, a project created by Etri Arquitetos. There, the Matarazzo marble, known for its striking grain and durability. Here, this marble has added value to the living room, with its elegant and bold look.
Is marble suitable for gourmet areas?
Through the waterproofing processmarble can be used in kitchen countertops.
Contrary to the general idea that this type of coating should be avoided in humid environments, the stone becomes highly resistant to stains and humidity, provided it is adequately protected with the application of specific products. This process requires occasional maintenance and can be done every six months or every year, depending on the intensity of use.
“It is possible to integrate different types of marble into a gourmet area. A great option for countertops is quartzite, which has greater resistance, such as the Mont Blanc and Taj Mahal models,” emphasizes Eduardo Tambellini.
Is all marble expensive?
Just as there are numerous marble options on the market, prices also vary greatly, depending on the individual characteristics of each stone. The rarer it is, the higher its value. Models with more prominent grains have higher prices, while those with smoother surfaces are generally more affordable.
“In addition to its ornamental appreciation, marble adds distinction to designs. When choosing the ideal pattern for a space, it is crucial to consider the contextual information of the environment, ensuring that marble becomes a central element that harmonizes, rather than saturates the vision “, underlines Renata.
