“Aging is a natural process in life, but we can prepare and take care of ourselves to make it happen in the best way possible,” says dentist and healthcare manager Amanda Arantes. In a world where youth is often idolized, the true art lies in embracing and optimizing every stage of life, says the expert.

For her, maturity brings with it a wealth of experience, wisdom and, yes, changes in our skin and appearance. But with the right care and treatments, we can not only accept but celebrate these changes. After all, beauty is not defined by youth, but by how we take care of ourselves at every stage of life.

Lifelong care

A skin cleansing, for example, is much more than a simple beauty ritual. “It gives a clean and healthy appearance, reduces excess sebum in the skin and prevents premature aging, the appearance of blemishes, blackheads and pimples,” emphasizes Amanda.

The frequency of carrying out the procedure can often be a cause for doubt. Despite this, the doctor explains that for those with oily skin, every 30 days is ideal, while for others a session every three months may benefit.

But in addition to cleanliness, says the expert, daily skin care routine plays a crucial role in addressing aging. “In the morning, wash your face preferably with neutral soap and cold water, moisturize it and always apply sunscreen, regardless of exposure to the sun,” advises Arantes. And at night, the emphasis is on makeup removal and proper hydration.

However, even with the best daily care, common mistakes can sabotage skin health. Forgetting sunscreen, washing your face with hot water or not removing makeup before going to bed are traps many fall into. He also disapproves of squeezing blackheads and whiteheads, which can cause serious damage to the skin.
