Despite having a long expiration date, from time to time we may forget this information and let the milk expire. Instinctively the first thing many do is throw the drink away, but believe me: it is still possible to consume it in this state.
Subsequently we will indicate some possible uses of sour milk, but remember: in many cases, Use is only possible if a few days have passed from the expiry date.
1. Season the baked dishes
The first option for sour milk is to add it when preparing some baked dishes, as it can be used as a substitute for butter, yogurt or even sour cream.
No secret, just mix it when preparing the dish you want to make so that the flavor blends with the other ingredients. There are also some desserts and cakes that require the use of sour milk, and if you don’t have the drink in that state at home, simply add vinegar or lemon juice.
2. Skin treatment

It may seem like something from another world, but sour milk can be an excellent ally in treating your skin if you make a mask using this ingredient as a base.
One of the possibilities, for example, is to apply expired milk directly to the face and leave it to act on the skin for a period of between 15 and 20 minutes, subsequently removing the product with water. It is a treatment that helps the skin become brighter, as well as giving it firmness.
It is also possible to carry out a bath using sour milk, mixing one or two cups of the product with foaming essences to obtain the same result. If you want you can add drops of essential oil so that the acrid smell does not spread.
3. Aquatic plants

Even if expired milk is harmful to our body, the same cannot be said when it comes to vegetables. This way there are no problems in making a mixture containing a 50/50 ratio of milk and water.
After preparation, simply add the contents to your garden beds to enjoy the benefits of calcium, which will strengthen the plants and help them grow even stronger.
4. Prepare the cheese

Expired milk is important for the preparation of different cheeses, such as ricotta, siren and even aged white cheese. If it has already started the process of turning into whey, you can take a few more steps to ferment it.
In some cases it will be necessary to add lemon or vinegar to the solution, but the result obtained is still good. A few centuries ago, in fact, it was very common to make cheese simply by letting the drink’s expiry date pass, so there are no contraindications to its use in the preparation.
5. Freeze
Finally, a good way to use milk if you find that it is approaching its expiration date and you can’t drink it all by the expiration date indicated on the box is to put it in the freezer.
Storing the drink in the freezer can be excellent for reusing the milk without wasting it, but you need to pay attention to one thing in this practice: if you intend to put the product in the freezer, remember to empty the container, as during the freezing process the liquid tends to expand.
Another important thing: when reusing milk, remember to take it out of the freezer the day before and make sure that the liquid has completely returned to normal before drinking it, as some parts of it tend to melt at different times.
