Sweet Cornbread Recipe:

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (tea) oil
- 1 can green corn (reserve canned water)
- 6 tablespoons of sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 1 cup (tea) water
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup (tea) cornmeal
- 2 1/2 cups (tea) wheat flour (approximately)
- Margarine and wheat flour for greasing and flouring
Syrup
- 1 cup (tea) powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons of water
Preparation method:
- Blend the oil, corn with water, yeast, sugar, salt, water and eggs in a blender for 1 minute.
- Pour it into a bowl, add the corn flour and wheat flour, little at a time, kneading until it no longer sticks to your hands. If necessary, add more flour.
- Cover and let rest for 20 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 2 parts, form two cylinders and place each in a greased and floured English cake tin.
- Cover and let rest for another 40 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated medium oven (180°C) for 30 minutes or until cooked through and lightly browned.
- Remove from the oven, let cool and unmold.
- Mix the syrup ingredients until they have dissolved, sprinkle the bread and serve.
