Minas Gerais’ Celso Dias has been creating political and protest fashion since he started with the brand 10 years ago DRIVEN. To celebrate this decade, he has revisited some creations, mainly crochet, as well as hand-painting some pieces again. On the SPFW catwalk, the trans congresswoman Erika Hilton opened and closed the presentation.

We started with shorts, tops and blazers with the writing “Down with Macho Astral”, one of the phrases used by Celso in the history of the brand. And he finished with a white crochet dress with open stitches. “Fashion is often a political act, that’s why I think that a parliamentarian who brings fashion as an element of doing politics is something innovative in Brazil and that’s why I’m so attached to her,” he said in a recent interview with Them on the red carpet.

This connection is perfect with the DNA of LED, which included a diverse cast, such as cross-dressing singer Pepita and plus-size model Letticia Munniz. Several other representatives of the LGBTQIA+ community also walked the catwalk, including a gay couple, complete with a kiss on the mouth.

Crochet is back in colour, with lots of fringes, for everyone, including swimsuits. Some pieces were engraved with words like “Caguei” and “Tesão”, without trauma.
