I took the HIV test 33 days after the suspected affair; do I have to repeat?

The follower took the fourth generation test after a protected relationship with a call girl

In September I had a protected relationship with a call girl, both oral and vaginal. At 33 days I took the rapid test, fourth generation, and it came back negative. My HIV concern has passed, but I will retest in 90 days. It is true?

These fourth generation tests are very powerful, very modern. After 30 days, this immunological window has already passed. So there is a 99% chance that you have not contracted HIV.

If you want to retest after 90 days, that’s fine. But this 30 day trial is highly reliable.

Are HIV and AIDS synonymous?

NO! HIV is the virus that causes AIDS; it attacks specific cells of the immune system whose function is to protect the human body from diseases. Unlike other viruses, such as the flu, the body is unable to fight it.

AIDS, in turn, is the name given to the disease caused by HIV. In an advanced stage of the viral infection, the individual may experience various symptoms, opportunistic infections – such as pneumonia and infections caused by fungi and protozoa – and some types of cancer. For this and other reasons, antiretroviral treatment is so important: Without it, HIV uses defense cells to replicate other viruses and destroys them, making the body unable to fight other diseases and infections.

It is worth remembering that having HIV does not mean that the person will develop AIDS, however, once infected, the virus remains in the body, even if treatment is able to keep it undetectable.
