RABANADAS Ingredients:
– 24 slice(s) of French toast bread, stale. (or French bread)
THE
– 600 ml of whole milk
– sugar to taste
– lemon to taste (only the peel)
– ground cinnamon to taste
– ground cinnamon to taste
Ingredients RABANADAS – FRYING
– 6 units of beaten eggs or enough for the preparation
– oil to taste, for frying
Ingredients TO FINISH
– sugar to taste
– ground cinnamon to taste
PREPARATION:
- If you use French bread, buy it 1 day in advance to use it “stale”. If it’s French toast, buy it 2 days in advance.
- Separate the recipe ingredients and utensils.
- Cut the bread into finger-thick slices. Line a plate with paper towels to drain the French toast after frying.
- In a shallow dish, mix the sugar with a little cinnamon to coat the already fried French toast and set aside.
PREPARATION:
FRENCH TOAST:
- Heat a milk jug with the milk, sugar to taste, lemon zest, ground cinnamon and ground cinnamon. Let it boil.
- Place a layer of bread slices on a baking tray.
- Using a sieve, filter the boiling milk over the slices of bread, enough to wet them.
- Turn the bread slices and dip them again.
- Transfer the slices to a colander and let the excess milk drain into a colander set over a bowl to drain. This way you can reuse excess milk by adding it back to the milk jug.
TOAST – FRYING:
- Put 2 fingers of oil in a pan and heat.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs until smooth – do not let it foam, so that it does not absorb too much oil during frying.
- Dip the moistened slices of bread into the beaten eggs and place them in the pan with the hot oil.
- Brown it for about 2 minutes on each side.
- Remove the French toast with a slotted spoon and transfer it to a plate lined with absorbent paper.
- Depending on the number of French toasts, repeat the process until they are all fried.
- Remove the paper towel.
- Dip the already fried, but still warm, French toast in the cinnamon sugar.
FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:
- Reorder the French toast onto a serving plate and sprinkle with a little more of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Leave at room temperature if consumed on the same day, overnight, leave in the refrigerator.
