Traditional French toast

ingredients

  • 4 stale French loaves, cut into slices
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon

Preparation method

Place the milk and lemon zest in a container and mix well. Reserve. Place the eggs in another container and, using a fork, beat them lightly. Reserve. In a pan, add the oil and place over medium heat to heat. In the meantime, pass the slices of bread over the milk, without letting it melt. Then pass in the beaten egg.

Finally, place the slices in the pan with the oil and, using a slotted spoon, fry them until they are golden on both sides. Next, have the bread on a container with absorbent paper to remove excess oil. Reserve. Place the sugar and cinnamon powder in a container and mix well. Spread the French toast over the mixture and serve immediately.

  • 2 eggs
  • 340 g of condensed milk
  • 150 ml of milk
  • 1 panettone cut into slices
  • Sugar and cinnamon to taste
  • Fry oil

Preparation method

Place the eggs, condensed milk and milk in a container and, using a fork, beat well. Reserve. In a pan, add the oil and place over medium heat to heat. In the meantime pass the pieces of Panettone over the mixture. Using a slotted spoon, place the panettone in the hot oil and fry until golden on both sides.   • 200 g of cream
  • 3 tablespoons of wheat flour
  • 150 g of grated mozzarella
  • 4 slices of bread

Preparation method

Place the eggs, salt, cream, wheat flour and cheese and mix until obtaining a homogeneous consistency. Reserve. In a pan, add the oil and place over medium heat to heat. In the meantime, pass the loaves over the mixture set aside. Using a slotted spoon, fry the French toast in the hot oil until golden brown on both sides. Next, remove the bread from the pan and place it in a container with absorbent paper to drain the excess oil. Serve immediately.
