Holidays are usually the “villain” of the diet, but we prove that this is not the case
When you think of dinner, you automatically think of high-calorie foods, which many people can eat guilt-free. However, there is the possibility of celebrating this moment in a healthy way. Dr. Ana Luisa Vilela, weight loss specialist nutritionist, teaches how to prepare a protein dinner during a fitness Christmas.
Tips for a fit Christmas with a protein dinner
“The ideal is to use foods rich in fiber which aid digestion and increase the feeling of satiety,” he explains. Meat of all types, such as poultry, fish, grains such as beans, chickpeas, soy, peanuts, eggs, as well as milk and dairy products, can make a great protein and much lower calorie meal.
Turkey is the center of attention of this holiday and does not need to be excluded from the healthy dinner. This way, just don’t overdo it with the seasoning, after all it only has 5% fat and 20% protein.
“Without artificial seasonings you can opt for garlic, onion and pepper. Garlic is an excellent strengthener of the immune system, as well as having a diuretic action, it promotes bile secretion and is a friend of the heart”, explains the doctor.
Then just pop it in the oven. “Wrinkling the dish with olive oil helps moisten the meat and also lubricates the intestine. It has an important cardiovascular role,” comments Dr. Ana.
Dried fruit, typical of this season, is an excellent choice to replace fresh fruit. Furthermore, they make a difference in the final balance sheet. “Dried plums, for example, which have 200 calories per 100 grams, can be exchanged for fresh plums. Only 13 calories each, but if the idea is to eat dried fruit, replace it with the less caloric one. The traditional raisins, with 300 calories in just 100 g, replaceable with dried apricots, 100 calories for the same quantity”, explains the nutritionist.
Does it combine with alcohol?
The secret is to be satisfied with a maximum dose of alcoholic drink at the time of the toast. Half a glass of champagne, for example, contains an average of 50 calories.
