The platform identifies patterns based on user research
Pinterest Predicts 2024, the platform’s tenth report, has been released with a preview of concepts expected to trend in the new year.
The data is collected from research conducted by more than 480 million people around the world, identifying patterns.
In 2023, for the fourth consecutive year, 80% of predictions proved correct.
In fashion, vintage style with an eclectic touch of Generation Z and Baby Boomers will be on the rise; the Medusa style, which encompasses high fashion, makeup and decoration; and bows, adorning clothes, shoes, makeup, hairstyles and jewelry with bows of all sizes and shapes.
The bulky aesthetic is also “in,” with bolder, larger ornaments and oversized clothing items.
Metallic inspiration is another strong point, with the popularity of cool silver tones and chromatic shades.
Unexpectedly, the Western Gothic style, which mixes the “dark” atmosphere with country elements, will also be successful, as will the tropical touches, with elements reminiscent of the heat, the sea, the sun and palm trees.
Traditional in the 2000s, makeup in shades of blue is back. Other “hype” will be the hippie weddings, with flowers, geometric patterns, bright colors and 70s inspirations.
