Minas Gerais biscuits recipe:

Preparation time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/3 cups (tea) sweet cassava starch
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups (tea) standard Minas cheese (half-aged), finely grated
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 egg (approximately)

How to prepare the Minas Gerais biscuit:

  1. In a bowl, mix the tapioca starch, butter, cheese and salt.
  2. Add the egg and mix until a smooth mixture is formed. If it is dry, add another small egg.
  3. Form rolls and cut them every 10 cm.
  4. Place on a greased baking tray and shape the biscuits into a “u”.
  5. Bake in a preheated medium oven (180°C) for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
  6. Then, let it cool and serve.
