Where do you think spice containers should be? According to space organizer Lauren Saltman, they should be placed in or near the kitchen area. “The key to storing seasonings is accessing them quickly. I love tiered bamboo racks that fit on a counter or in a cabinet,” says Lauren.

Are your cupboards full of kitchen utensils and you can’t fit anything else in them? In this case, Saltman advises using magnetic spice racks that can be installed on the side of the refrigerator. “The main thing is to make sure you buy a shelf with quality magnets so you can safely place glass spice jars on it,” adds Lauren.
Special storage facilities for spices should not only provide quick access to seasonings, but also protect them from sunlight. Sliding shelves have no equal in this regard – they fit perfectly into the furniture, and the structure itself can be removed with one movement in order to quickly find the necessary containers for spices.
Do you have corner cabinets in your kitchen? For spices, thanks to the organizers, they will be an ideal place: on the lower level, Lauren advises placing the seasonings that you use most often, on top of the other two – the spices that you add to dishes less often.
Another solution for displaying transparent spice containers is a hanging shelf. Firstly, its installation is very simple: as a rule, such a device is attached to a cabinet. Second, you will save space by using free vertical space. Third, these organizers often have added bonuses, for example a paper towel holder.
Wall-mounted spice racks are great, but another great solution is to organize organizers that allow you to store spices “horizontally.” Space organizer Britney Tanner loves them: “It allows me to keep all of my mason jars within reach without worrying that any of them will fall or break,” says Britney.
According to space organizers, vertical spice racks are a classic idea for storing seasonings. Such organizers can be very different – functional and simple or spectacular and decorating the kitchen. You can place them anywhere: if you want, place them on a shelf, if you want, leave them in plain sight on the work surface.
The Lazy Susan is a great substitute for a spice rack and a favorite of space organizer Jamie Hord. Jamie thinks the turntable is ideal: it allows you to quickly access any pot in your collection, fits easily into a cupboard, looks great on the counter and has a non-slip surface or edges – this means that you won’t need supports for your spice jars and they won’t fall over anyway while you’re looking for the right one.
Specialized cabinets for spices are not suitable for every kitchen, but there is always a place for magnetic jars – this is perhaps one of the most compact solutions. It can look very impressive – look, for example, at this option with “honeycombs” – it is not only functional, but will also be an effective decorative element.
Those who are not afraid to make their own spice racks can turn a regular cornice into an organizer. Don’t want to mess around? There are similar ready-made sets that are suitable for housewives who prefer to store peppers and herbs not in jars, but in bags.
