Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are some of them […]
The hotel booking platform Booking.com published this Monday, February 5, a list of the five most popular Brazilian destinations for Carnival.
From a survey conducted on accommodation searches between February 10 and 14, 2024, the company discovered that Brazil is the most searched country on its site, considering travelers from all over the world, ahead of Spain, Argentina, Italy and the United States.
One of the curiosities is that Rio de Janeiro, at the time, was one of the most popular destinations in the world, behind only Dubai, Paris, London and Barcelona.
Below is the list of the most popular destinations on the platform to enjoy the Carnival weekend, which will officially begin next Friday, February 9th.
BRAZILIAN DESTINATIONS MOST SEARCHED

5th PLACE
João Pessoa
(Paraiba)
In the capital of Paraíba, better known as Jampa, you don’t even have to go far to find beautiful stretches of sand and warm, crystal-clear waters at your feet. There are 24 kilometers of urban coastline, with beaches such as Bessa, Manaíra and Tambaú.
Another highlight is the historic center of Brazil’s third oldest city, with ancient buildings such as the Hotel Globo, squares and open spaces.

4TH PLACE
St. Paul
(St. Paul)
More than the Anhembi Sambódromo, Carnival is increasingly distinguished by the hundreds of blocks that take place in different neighborhoods of the city, in the form of blocks or megablocks.
According to the City of São Paulo, in 2024 there will be 579 city blocks in all regions of the Subprefectures. Among the main attractions is the Pipoca collective, responsible for some of the main processions of São Paulo, in the Ibirapuera region.

3rd PLACE
Ubatuba
(St. Paul)
This municipality, 225 kilometers from the capital São Paulo, is located on the northern coast of the state and is known for its beautiful beaches and ecotourism activities.
The destination is home to 16 islands and more than 100 beaches, as well as parks like Serra do Mar State Park, with its trails and waterfalls.

2ND PLACE
Port of Galinhas
(Pernambuco)
In this hamlet of the municipality of Ipojuca, on the south coast of Pernambuco, the most popular attraction are raft crossings to natural pools with clear waters and temperatures that constantly hover around 28 degrees.
But that is not all.
The village is also known for its Ponta a Ponta buggy route, with stops at beaches such as Camboa and Maracaípe, where you can hike on wooden rafts through the mangrove forest.

1ST PLACE
Rio de Janeiro
(Rio de Janeiro)
The top spot on the list couldn’t even be anywhere else on the planet.
It is there that one of the largest festivals in the world takes place, attracting millions of people every year, the highlight of which are the parades in the sambodrome designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer, the Marquis of Sapucaí.
In addition to the parades, Rio Carnival is also known for its lively streets, parties and shows that take place throughout the city.
