Have you ever imagined eating a tasty pizza that helps you gain more stamina and muscle mass during training? Two personal trainers have teamed up in a new business and created Pizzaria Di Monstro, in Sao Paulo, which sells pizzas with dough made from whey protein, a widely used whey protein supplement by those who do bodybuilding and intense physical activities.
So customers will be able to eat that pizza with a dry, crunchy edge and stay focused on training without weighing their conscience. The flavors that are most popular are those with names that allude to the fitness universe. Di Monstro, the flagship of the house, costs R$76 and is prepared with homemade tomato sauce, chicken, corn, light mozzarella, cream cheese, bacon slices and basil.
There are also protein flavors that cost R$66: from Nutri (tomato sauce, turkey breast, light mozzarella, cream cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and basil), Pump (artisan tomato sauce, chicken, light mozzarella, cream cheese, tomato and basil) and Fat+Fit (tomato sauce, peppers, sliced onion and light mozzarella).
The restaurant also serves Leg Day, Maromba, BodyBuilder and Six Pack (a reference to the six segments of a sculpted abdomen) pizzas, among others.
The house’s proposal is the “Monstro Quartet”, which is divided into four flavors: Di Monstro; To be cultivated; Pure proteins; From Hulk and costs R$ 79.90. The customer can opt for traditional, wholemeal pasta as well as protein pasta. And if you’re craving dessert, the pizzeria sells brigadeiro-flavored protein pizzas, Protein Sensation (Di Monstro chocolate protein pizza base topped with strawberries), among others.
“In general, we try to balance flavors and crunchiness, opting for lighter ingredients,” explained Rafael Vieira, 38, one of the partners, to the magazine “Pequenas Empresas & Grandes Negócios”.
