Make Hommus invites chefs to sign recipes throughout the month of March
Starting tomorrow, March 6, chef Fred Caffarina and gastrologist Talita Silveira will serve personalized hummus from chefs from Brazil’s Arab community. Always from Wednesday to Sunday and only in the Make Hommus salon. Not the war.
The restaurant with the most appropriate name for the historical moment has decided to bring forward the start of the celebrations of the National Day of the Arab Community, since the day itself, March 25, falls on a Monday.
The first to present her version with chickpea paste is chef Huda Homsi, a Lebanese from Tripoli who runs a buffet in Goiás: until the 10th the house hommus accompanies chicken shawarma with grilled green beans and fatuche salad (R$55).
On the 13th, the recipe with knife-tip minced meat, sautéed endive and golden onion from Regina Maatouk, heir to Alice Monte Virgínia, founded in the early 1970s on the outskirts of Rua 25 de Março. «It was our favorite Arabic restaurant. “Cook and traveler” Mohamad Hindi concludes the commemorative cycle between March 21 and 24 with a hommus surf’n’turf (R$65), topped with octopus and merguez (lamb sausage).
During this period, the restaurant continues to serve the seven varieties of its menu, including traditional hummus with Egyptian falafel, tahini sauce, tomato and cucumber salad, pickles and a touch of pepper (R$ 41) and Seu Jacó, accompanied by beef kibbeh. , tomato sauce and Turkish-style eggs (R$41).
