Today (27) we celebrate the Day of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, where she is venerated by the Catholic Church as “Mother of Jesus” and protector of the Redemptorist Fathers. The tradition of honoring her began in the 15th century, after a Mediterranean merchant received small graces through appeals made in front of a Byzantine-style painting of the Saint.
