What can you do with an old curtain: 10 good ideas

Turning a curtain into a tablecloth is not easy, but very simple: maybe you don’t even have to sew anything. Take scissors, cut the curtain ribbon and check if the fabric is the right size for the table. Otherwise, cut it and then hem the edge.

You can also use a curtain to create a bedspread: most curtains are large enough to accommodate even a double bed underneath. You can proceed as in the case of a tablecloth: cut out a rectangle of the desired size and process the edge.

Ready to spend more time? Sew a quilted bedspread! Is there any fabric left? Pillows from an old curtain will make a great set – no one will ever guess that the set is homemade, and not bought in a store.

Speaking of kits! Curtain fabric often has a luxurious look, so why not add ambiance to your entertaining? It’s easy to turn a curtain into a cushion cover, but it’s even simpler to make a table runner and napkins to place under each plate: simply cut the fabric into rectangles and trim the edge.
