Summary

Arabic perfumes attract Brazilians with their aura of mystery and exoticism, displaying rich and complex compositions with natural elements and providing a luxurious and engaging olfactory experience.

From the most famous French perfumes such as Chanel and J’adore, to Italian brands Dolce & Gabbana and Versace, imported fragrances have always been a source of curiosity and desire to acquire Brazilians passionate about cosmetics. However, in recent years, it is Arabic perfumes that have attracted attention, both through anonymous reviews on TikTok and through the influence of celebrities, such as Boca Rosa’s Bianca Andrade.

In an interview with Earth, the olfactory director of OUi Paris, Pierre Aulas, explains that the aura of mystery and exoticism make Arabic perfumes extremely attractive to Brazilians. The expert says they are known for their rich and complex compositions, which often incorporate natural ingredients such as oud, amber, spices and exotic flowers.

“Moreover, the long-lasting and intense projection of these perfumes are characteristics appreciated by Brazilian consumers looking for surprising and long-lasting fragrances,” says Pierre.

Pierre explains that ingredients such as oud, a rare and precious aromatic resin, have a special appeal for Brazilians, as they offer a unique and sophisticated sensory experience.

Notes of rose, jasmine, sandalwood, spices such as saffron and cardamom and woody notes contribute to the complexity and richness of these fragrances, captivating Brazilian consumers who seek a luxurious and engaging olfactory experience.

The perfumer explains that these perfumes differ from those traditionally sold in Brazil mainly due to their composition and style. While many Brazilian perfumes tend to be lighter, fresher and fruitier, Arabic perfumes are known for their opulence, depth and sensuality.

“Arabic fragrances often feature a combination of exotic and rare notes, creating an intense and engaging olfactory experience, which stands out compared to lighter, more conventional perfumes on the Brazilian market,” says the professional.
