Raise your hand to everyone who not only knows that kitchen towels need to be changed every day, but also does it!
There are unlikely to be many housewives like this: we all tend to remember washing kitchen towels when they are already very dirty. It is not surprising that it is difficult to put them in order. To make things easier for you, we’ve put together some helpful tips that will keep your textiles smelling fresh.
Method one: wash with vinegar
Vinegar is the alpha and omega of not only cleaning, but also washing. It is the best product for installing a “zero odor” installation, in other words to eliminate unpleasant odors. There are two options for using vinegar.
Vinegar + boiling water
Neither vanilla extract, orange zest, cinnamon, nor rose water will make dishcloths smell fragrant when dirty. If you are facing a particularly serious case, follow these steps:
- Boil water in a saucepan.
- Add a glass of 9% white vinegar.
- Place the towels in the pan.
- Let the water boil for 15 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let the water cool.
- Wash your towels as usual.
The combination of vinegar and boiling water will destroy bacteria and mold. With this method, you can easily get rid of all the unpleasant odors that have impregnated the fabric.

If the towels are just dirty and don’t make you think, “Wouldn’t it be easier to throw them away?” – then vinegar can be used when loading the washing machine. In this case, there is only one important rule to remember: you should not mix it with the powder – add a cup of vinegar either to the pre-wash compartment or to the conditioner compartment and start the appropriate cycle.
