Who resists? to a soft orange cake? And this time the sponge cake was made with the Airfryer, super practical

Made with Airfryer! Soft and very soft, orange scented. Who will resist this sponge cake?

Recipe for 2 people.

Classic (no restrictions), Vegetarian

Preparation: 00:50 + cooling time

Interval: 00:30


2 bowl(s), 1 strainer(s), 1 mold(s), 1 grater


fryer + mixer


cup = 240 ml, spoon = 15 ml, teaspoon = 10 ml, teaspoon = 5 ml

Orange sponge cake ingredients:

– 2 units of eggs (separated whites and yolks)

– 3/4 cup(s) of sugar

– 3/4 cup(s) wheat flour + a little for dusting the pan

– 1/4 cup(s) orange juice (zest before juicing)

– 1 teaspoon(s) of orange (zest)

– 1 teaspoon(s) of chemical baking powder

– Salt to taste

Ingredients TO FINISH

– sugar to taste, sifted

Ingredients FOR GREATING:

– unsalted butter to taste


  1. Separate the ingredients and utensils for the recipe.
  2. For the 2-portion recipe, use a 20 cm diameter and 6 cm high mold. If you need to make a larger cake, consider whether this is possible based on the size/capacity of your air fryer.
  3. Break the eggs, place the yolks in the bowl of the mixer and the whites in another bowl.
  4. Sift the flour with a pinch of salt into another bowl.
  5. Wash and dry the orange, remove the zest and extract the juice.
  6. Grease the pan with a little butter and sprinkle it with flour.
  7. Preheat the Airfryer to 160°C.


Orange sponge cake – Dough preparation:

  1. Using a mixer, beat the egg yolks to combine.
  2. Add the sugar and continue beating until you obtain a soft, whitish cream.
  3. Remove the bowl from the mixer.
  4. Add the orange zest and mix.
  5. Add the sifted flour, interspersed with the orange juice, and mix until you obtain a smooth mixture.
  6. In another bowl, beat the egg whites (to stiff peaks).
  7. Add the yeast to the sponge cake dough.
  8. Finally add the egg whites and mix carefully, so as not to remove the air from the egg whites.

Orange sponge cake – Cooking:

  1. Transfer the sponge cake dough to the greased and floured pan.
  2. Place the pan in the Airfryer basket and insert it into the drawer.
  3. Close the drawer and bake at 160°C for 25-30 minutes or if you test with a toothpick it comes out clean.
  4. Remove the cake from the Airfryer and shake the pan lightly to see if the cake loosens.
  5. Let cool.


  1. Unmold the orange sponge cake in the Airfryer on the serving plate.
  2. Sprinkle the sugar over the entire surface using a strainer (optional).
