OR Burger day it cannot go unnoticed! Celebrated on May 28, the date celebrates the famous snack and the different variations of its consumption. To enjoy it in style, try the traditional X-Burger recipe, which features a burger stuffed with mozzarella, pickles and even caramelized onion. The preparation method includes up to 6 portions and can be adapted to everyone’s tastes. So, check out the preparation instructions:

Traditional cheeseburger recipe

Time: half past one

Performance: 6 servings

Difficulty: easy


  • 5 x Hamburger Buns
  • Butter for grilling
  • 5 slices of cheddar cheese
  • Mayonnaise, lettuce leaves and tomato slices to taste
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of cucumber pickle sliced


  • 1 kg of ground picanha
  • Oregano, salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green chilli
  • 250 g of sliced ​​mozzarella

Caramelized onion:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 onions sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce (shoyu)

Preparation method:

  1. For the onion, heat the butter in a pan over a low heat until it melts and then add the onion, sautéing until softened.
  2. Add the sugar and fry for another 3 minutes.
  3. Add the soy sauce and sauté for a further 3 minutes or until caramelised, stirring.
  4. Turn off and set aside.
  5. In the meantime, in a bowl, place the ground picanha and add oregano, salt, pepper, green chili pepper and mix well.
  6. Divide this mass of meat into 12 equal parts and flatten each part with your hands.
  7. Divide the mozzarella slices into 6 parts of meat paste and cover with the other 6 parts of meat paste.
  8. Using your hands, combine the pieces of meat paste together and press well to prevent the filling from appearing.
  9. Fry each hamburger on a griddle or in a pan, browning it evenly on both sides.
  10. Place a slice of cheddar on top of each burger and let it melt.
  11. To assemble, spread a little mayonnaise on one side of the buns, top with the cheese, reserved caramelized onion, pickles, lettuce and tomato.
  12. Cover with another half of bread and serve immediately.
