Learn how to make delicious tea with these tips on water temperature, ways to sweeten the drink, and more
OR you It has become a favorite drink for many people, especially on colder days. And no wonder: in addition to being delicious, it also has numerous health and wellness benefits. Who has never heard, for example, that chamomile is ideal for calming down on days of anxiety and stress?
But do you know how to prepare a perfect tea? As much as many people ignore it, there is a right temperature for the water, a period of time for which it should remain in contact with the herbs, as well as many other details when preparing this drink.
Then, you see 5 golden tips for making incredible tea:
Know the right water temperature
This question will depend on the type of tea you will prepare. If it is black or something darker, the water needs to boil at 100ºC, as they require it to be hotter. For others, however, many recommend not boiling the water, but simply keeping it warm, at around 80º C.
Understand how long to leave herbs in contact with water
This will also depend a little on the type of tea you are going to prepare. For greens, the water and herbs should remain in contact for 1 to 3 minutes. In the case of black it will be from 2 to 4. For infusions around 5.
Don’t forget to leave it to infuse much longer, otherwise the drink runs the risk of becoming bitter.
Sweeten (or not) correctly
To prepare a truly delicious tea, the most recommended thing is not to sugar the drink, as this will make the flavor more pronounced. However, if you prefer to consume the sweeter liquid, opt for honey or demerara sugar, which are healthier.
Create combinations
How about trying blending herbs you like or even purchasing pre-blended teas? This way you can prepare a tea with an even more complex and delicious flavour.
Drink early
The best thing is not to wait too long to drink your tea, so that it is still fresh and delicious. If you want to drink it colder and therefore prefer to put it in the fridge first, you can do so, but always consume it on the same day.
