Choose the ideal bread

All breads can be part of a diet, as long as they are in moderation. However, there are those that could be more suitable for a healthy daily life. “The ideal is to always consume breads with fewer ingredients and composition, because they are considered ‘more natural'”, explains the nutritionist.

As for the composition, it is similar in most breads. However, you need to pay attention to those that contain something extra, such as sweets.

For those who want to lose weight it is also recommended to opt for wholemeal bread which, according to the expert, has more fiber and, therefore, improves intestinal function and increases the sense of satiety. However, remember that it doesn’t need to be the only one in your diet, as long as everything is balanced.

Consume with proteins

It is not just the type of bread that matters because it is healthier and fits more correctly into the diet. The ideal is to always consume it with a little protein.

Caroline lists eggs, minced meat, chickpea pâté, tuna and shredded chicken as examples. “This recommendation helps glucose absorption, increases protein intake and improves satiety,” she comments.

Pay attention to the quantity

It is important to pay attention to the amount of bread. Nutritionist recommends up to 4 slices of bread or 2 French loaves per day for general people.

This varies depending on your goals, so it is essential to seek out a specialist who can give you advice for your specific case.
