The expert explains the importance of lifestyle care to achieve quality of life

Have you ever thought about how the lifestyle you follow can have a direct impact on your quality of life?

With a hectic and busy life at work and homework, people end up damaging their lifestyle. Maintaining health has become one of the major challenges of modern life as it significantly affects the well-being of the population.

In general, lifestyle is the way we all live, our habits, personal relationships, work relationships and relationships with the world, that is, it is linked to physical, mental, social and spiritual issues. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), changing some habits can prevent about 80% of premature deaths caused by heart disease and stroke, as in the case of unbalanced diet, sedentary lifestyle and cigarette use. For this reason, adopting new habits is essential to ensure the maintenance of well-being.

According to nutritionist Camila Ciancio, certain lifestyle patterns currently represent the main causes of behavioral risk related to chronic diseases and more serious disabilities. “We have realized that chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases are among the major causes of death, but they could be avoided by adopting healthier habits,” she explains.

According to her, having healthy habits helps keep the body fit and the mind alert, as well as protect the body from various diseases. “This is essential because as the body ages, you can notice changes in the muscles, joints and the body in general,” warns Camila.

Well-being is a broad indicator that covers different areas such as health, education, leisure, entertainment, consumer skills and socialization. It is the perception that the individual has of his participation in life, taking into account physical, mental, psychological and emotional conditions.

The nutritionist says that lifestyle has a great impact on people’s well-being. “The way people deal with daily life, through eating habits, physical exercise, leisure time, romantic relationships and work, totally influences well-being. Leading a sedentary lifestyle is extremely harmful to health. This can lead to various diseases, such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, osteoporosis, cholesterol alterations, respiratory diseases, among others, thus affecting the patient’s well-being.”

Camila concludes by warning that, just as the body sends signals to communicate its basic needs, such as thirst, hunger and sleep, it also warns when something is not right. “A pain that appears in a certain point cannot be ignored. Because it suggests that something is not working as it should and we must identify the reason. In this case, preventive care is essential to maintain good health. The idea is to promote changes in behavior and lifestyle with the aim of preventing diseases and improving people’s health.”
