The museum’s biggest upgrade ever promises new themes and more modern, playful exhibits
The Football Museum in São Paulo has undergone renovations and will reopen to the public on July 12. To celebrate the return of the institution, managed by the Secretariat of Culture, Economy and Creative Industry of the Government of São Paulo, admission will be free on the 12th, 13th and 14th: just pick up your ticket at the physical box office.
Situated in an area of 6,900 m² within the Pacaembu Stadiumor Football Museum It opened in 2008 as one of the pioneers in Brazil in the use of audiovisual and interactive resources.
The renovation project, the result of an investment of R$ 15.8 million, is the first major intervention carried out at the museum in its 16 years of existence. The objective was to promote technological updating and the implementation of new interactive experiences, but also the inclusion of new content to accompany the changes in football and society.
New topics include increased women’s football, diversity, inclusion and race issues on and off the pitch, and a new room honoring Pelé.
Some structures were expanded, while others were created or replaced. The work also included accessibility features, with plans, maps and tactile models expanded, and more content added to Libras.

Where? Pacaembu Stadium – Charles Miller Square.
When? Reopening on July 12th. Opening hours will be from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9.00 to 18.00 (last admission at 17.00).
How much? Free tickets on July 12, 13 and 14. Also on Tuesdays the entrance is free for everyone and always for children up to seven years old. On other days the full price costs R$24 and half price costs R$12.
