Earth tones, organic furniture and national artworks make up the environment designed by Daniela Funari for CASACOR SP;

Inspired by the diversity of Brazilian soils, the architect Daniela Funari He was responsible for the entrance and ticket office, titled “Solos”, at CASACOR São Paulo 2024.

With the aim of reflecting the geological basis of Brazil through architectural resources, the professional opted for a layout and decoration that follow the colors and textures present in the different regions.




“Our country is a rich source of inspiration for architects and artists to celebrate all this vibrant diversity in their creations,” Daniela emphasizes.

The 130 m2 double-height space welcomes the ticket office, entrance hall, cloakroom and the passage that leads visitors to the exhibition circuit.

“It was a great responsibility and an honor to develop this project in which I introduced resources that allow the public to enter and exit,” defines the architect.

The project includes a generous front porchin harmony with the large hollow shelves that follow the design of the building. On each shelf, decorative objects such as ceramic vases, pieces with natural weaves and sculptures in neutral and earthy tones dictate the color palette followed throughout the room.

In front of the reception, a cozy lounge welcomes all visitors. To promote well-being, a long sofa designed by Maurício Bomfim, a series of circular tables and a curved bench have been included.

According to Daniela, organic pieces are meant to convey lightness and movement.

The choice of colours was born from an in-depth study of the geographical structures that make up the DNA of Brazil: the light base of the porcelain stoneware floor in the 120 x 120 cm format and the walls in the Lugar de Afeto colour are inspired by the dunes and sands of the Northeast and Tocantins, in the north of the country.

“In the organic arrangement of the space, the wavy wall took us back to the dunes of the Lençóis Maranhenses,” says the architect.

The manifestation of terracotta, so suggestive in the headdresses, expresses the red lands (also called purple) of the interior of São Paulo and southern Minas Gerais, and has been faithfully expressed by the composition of MDF sheets in Glamour Pink, the ceramic coating and the velvet-effect varnish in the Café Místico color.

Brown of Seas was responsible for the tropical landscapedesigning the side garden in the lounge and adding several pots inside the ticket office – with native species such as Heliconias Alpineas, Clusias, Areca Bamboo and Elephant Ear Palms and Ravenalas, Lemon Pleomeles, Grandes Ravenalas, Alpineas, Clusias and Colocasias.

The environment was also enriched with pieces by Brazilian artists, who use natural elements for the composition.

“I thought of this curation as a way to present the different facets of Brazil in its contemporary art. The works have been carefully arranged in strategic points so that they can be admired from any direction,” explains Daniela.

For the hall and garden wall, a wool sculpture work30 cm deep, it highlights the textile work of the Pernambuco artist Mauro Frazão.

A large geometric carpet, signed by Rapha Preto, entitled “Courage”, adorns the living room. On the organic wall, which encloses the space and leads visitors to the hat shop, a series of paintings by Annike Limborço reinforces the importance of geology and Brazil. nature.

“Everything speaks to each other: the furniture with the colors, the colors with the finishes, the finishes with the textures and shapes of the building and, finally, the whole with the works of art. And all of this solidifies as a gift for the public to reflect on the urgent needs of the present”, concludes the professional.
