Bad Breath During PMS: Here’s How to Fix It
There are several types of alopecia, the main ones being areata, which is the loss of hair in tufts. Androgenetic alopecia is characterized by the progressive miniaturization of the hair. There is also traction alopecia, which occurs when the strands are pulled out by wearing very tight hairstyles or by trichotillomania – the habit of pulling out strands of hair.
The main causes of alopecia are genetic and hormonal factors. However, external factors can also trigger hair loss, such as stress, the use of certain medications, thyroid disorders, excessive traction and prolonged use of caps and hats.
Baldness, known as androgenetic alopecia, can affect both men and women, even in adolescence. The hair becomes weak, the follicles become damaged and do not grow. And if the problem is not treated, hair loss can be permanent. Hair loss, in most cases, is caused by telogen effluvium, which is a condition in which hair loss is temporary.
There are a number of treatment options, such as oral or topical medications, use of lasers and ultraviolet light, microinfusion of medications into the skin, mesotherapy, and LED therapy – which features a helmet with LED lights that fight inflammatory processes in the scalp cells and also stimulate hair growth.
In cases where the defects are visible, where there is no more hair, the most suitable and definitive treatment is hair transplantation, that is, we remove hair from an area, which is not susceptible to the baldness hormone, and implant it in the other area. However, everything will depend on the diagnosis of the type of alopecia, since some, such as cicatricial, require treatment before surgery.
