Ingredients CARAMELISED ONION
– 4 tablespoons olive oil, or enough for frying
– 4 medium onions (200 g each), cut into 0.5 cm slices
– Salt to taste

- Separate all ingredients and utensils.
- Peel the onion(s), cut it in half lengthwise.
- Then slice into slices about 0.5 cm thick.
- Use a mandolin to slice evenly, if available.

Caramelized onion:
- Heat the olive oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
- Gradually add the onion crescents, stirring often to ensure even cooking.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Reduce the heat and continue stirring until the onions are golden, about 15 minutes.
- While preparing them, add a few spoons of water to prevent them from burning.
- After each addition of water, mix again.
- Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the onions are completely soft and caramelized.
