Ingredients CARAMELISED ONION

– 4 tablespoons olive oil, or enough for frying

– 4 medium onions (200 g each), cut into 0.5 cm slices

– Salt to taste

PREPARATION:
  1. Separate all ingredients and utensils.
  2. Peel the onion(s), cut it in half lengthwise.
  3. Then slice into slices about 0.5 cm thick.
  4. Use a mandolin to slice evenly, if available.
PREPARATION:

Caramelized onion:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
  2. Gradually add the onion crescents, stirring often to ensure even cooking.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Reduce the heat and continue stirring until the onions are golden, about 15 minutes.
  5. While preparing them, add a few spoons of water to prevent them from burning.
  6. After each addition of water, mix again.
  7. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the onions are completely soft and caramelized.
FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:
  1. It is used for caramelized onion as an accompaniment to meat, poultry, fish, soups, sandwiches or as a delicious appetizer.
