Today a model for brands like Versace and Armani, Emanuel Ramos needed to work as a motoboy during the pandemic and remembers situations of harassment

Born in Campo dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro, the model Emanuele Ramos, 21, dreamed of becoming a motocross rider. Life on the runways had never crossed his mind, until an invitation from a cousin, who needed photos to promote her shop, ended up leading him to the profession he had come to love.
Today in London, Emanuel has become one of the darlings of the big fashion brands, such as James, Giorgio Armani, Versace And Calvin Klein. She also walked the runway at Milan Fashion Week for Dolce Gabbana.
In an interview with Landhe says the experience was an injection of spirit after the difficult period he experienced during his adolescence and, more recently, during the pandemic.
“It reminded me that all my efforts and all my perseverance are paying off,” he adds.

Between dream and need
Emanuel Ramos’ career began with the success of the photos he took for his cousin. At the age of 15 he was invited to join him at model selection in the capital Rio de Janeiro. approved in Agency 40 degrees, at 16 he emancipated himself to be able to travel and do small jobs, looking for bigger flights. The following year he moved to Sao Paulo.
Template professional at school, the bullying it was something present in the life of Emanuele. According to him, his sexuality was often contested.
“They said it was a gay. I feel like I’ve resisted getting into business for it, but the truth is that fashion saved my life, ”she recalls.
But with the arrival of the pandemic, in 2020, another challenge. Like many sectors, fashion has also stopped. Without work, Emanuel had to return to his hometown and did everything possible to maintain his independence. According to his account of him, he has worked online in different places, but has not identified with any service.

He had to put aside his dream of practicing motocross and sold the bike to buy a CG 150, with which he began to make deliveries.
“I wanted to help my parents, besides I thought it was dangerous […] I’m a model, I work with my body, I can’t be in accidents, “she explains.
“People would serve me naked”
Despite the love of motorcycling, the routine of motoboy, it wasn’t easy. Emanuel does not forget the episodes of harassment And humiliation which has already passed.
“They harassed me a lot. Sometimes I delivered food and people came to help me without clothes. I laughed, but I never got carried away, because I was on my work schedule. I experienced situations of people who humiliated me,” he recalls . “You motorcyclists they should be valued more, they facilitate people’s daily lives “.

Deliveries have been Emanuel’s business for nearly two years. With the pandemic easing and a well done “stock up”, he is back in Sao Paulo to resume his modeling career.
With the meteoric rise experienced in his return to the catwalk, Emanuel Ramos does not need limits. He says the suitcase is his home and new changes are coming with new jobs.
