Veja Condor 3 offers excellent technical and design features to be a running shoe beyond the green talk
In a market flooded with athletic shoe giants, Veja emerges not only as a lifestyle brand with eye-catching designs, but also as a beacon of sustainability and ethics in sneaker production. Known for its commitment to natural materials, Veja is challenging the status quo, proving with the Condor 3 (R$990) that it is serious about changing the perception of sustainable running shoes.

Manufactured in high-end factories in Brazil, the Condor 3 is the result of a conscious effort to ensure not only quality, but also fairness for workers and the lowest possible environmental impact. Released five years after the original, the Condor 3 is not the product of unnecessary annual updates, but rather of careful refinement.

With their sleek, minimalist design, these sneakers are a visual delight as well as a technical marvel, offering a perfect fit and exceptional comfort thanks to the engineered mesh upper, made from 100% recycled polyester with TPU panels (which are the colored parts of the sneaker that work as cages for the feet). And the castor oil-based heel support.

The thin tongue also works well, adhering perfectly to the instep. The laces are lighter and thinner than those of the Condor 2 (also made of recycled polyester) and, since they have a serrated design, they do not loosen while running. The sole, in turn, has several reinforced plastic inserts (Amazonian rubber, mineral silica and synthetic rubber) and some teeth to increase grip while running on the most diverse surfaces. It is not a hiking shoe, let’s be clear, but it is not a sneaker that requires smooth terrain either.

Condor 3 has EVA of sugar cane
The midsole is made of EVA from sugar cane and rubber from the Amazon, and it offers a perfect balance between softness and responsiveness, defying expectations of how an eco-friendly sneaker can perform. As such, the Condor 3 is ideal for light and long-distance running, proving that sustainability doesnât have to sacrifice performance. In addition, the sneaker also stands out as a lifestyle running model, perfect for those looking for footwear that easily transitions from exercise to casual use. A feature that I really appreciate.

Weighing just over 300 grams in size 41, with a 37mm heel drop, 29mm forefoot drop, and an 8mm heel-to-toe drop, the Condor 3 is classified as a neutral road shoe. It was lab-tested and tested by 40 runners of all shapes and sizes, so perhaps itâs such a good all-rounder, proving that pleasing everyone can sometimes be an option.
