A study conducted by a professor of Cognitive Linguistics at the University of Birmingham reveals the best-sounding male names




For many new fathers and mothers, choosing a name is a recurring problem, after all, the “beautiful” name varies according to culture, season and, above all, personal preferences. For science, however, the issue is less complex: studies in fields such as psychology and linguistics help to find the most beautiful names that are considered “most beautiful”.

Bodo Winter, professor of Cognitive Linguistics at the University of Birmingham, England, has analyzed, in a research commissioned by the specialized magazine My early yearsphonetics, symbolism and sensory aspects of different names.

In addition to choosing names, the academic stresses the importance of matching a suitable name to the family name. “If the family name begins with ‘S’ [por exemplo]It is advisable to choose names that do not end with an ‘S’, to avoid confusion between names,” he specifies.

She adds that thinking about the nickname is also a critical part, and that the name preference should always be paired with the sound variations the child can be called.
