Laser therapy can be used to heal various types of wounds and neuromusculoskeletal pain.
Laser therapy is a treatment that uses low-power laser light, which has the function of biostimulating damaged cells in our body to repair tissue. This treatment has an analgesic effect to relieve pain, heal and acts to modulate inflammation. “Its application is painless, quick and safe, obviously if applied correctly”, explains the professional Vanessa Zani.
When should or shouldn’t we use it?
Its use is indicated for multiple purposes, such as healing canker sores, wounds of all kinds, treatment of cold sores, facial paralysis and paresthesia, stimulation of the salivary glands and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal pain.
Vanessa warns that there are contraindications to laser therapy treatment in the case of neoplasms in the region to be irradiated, clinical lesions without a medical diagnosis, and also on the skin of patients who use topical photosensitive substances, such as isotretinoin and retinoic acid.
diabetic neuropathy
Many people with diabetes live with dietary restrictions to control their blood sugar levels, and if left unchecked, some sores may appear on the skin. With laser therapy, lesions known as diabetic neuropathy can be treated, as the treatment can regenerate and reduce inflammation of the affected nerves, thus improving the condition of the peripheral nerves of diabetics and controlling pain.
