Tinder on the market? New pineapple flirting technique becomes a craze in Spain

Going to the supermarket just to buy groceries is now a thing of the past! The flirting trend is attracting singles to the establishments

Anyone who thinks that monthly purchases are the only thing that motivates people to go to the supermarket is wrong. In Madrid, Spain, a new flirting trend is attracting singles to the bars.

The technique, dubbed “Flirting Time,” is very simple. Between 7 and 8 p.m., those looking for a partner place a pineapple upside down in their shopping cart and head to the wine aisle. If you’re interested in someone, simply tap their cart.

The game started with actress and comedian Vivy Lin. She posted a video on Tiktok in which she appeared with a friend while flirting at Mercadona, a Spanish and Portuguese supermarket chain. The post has already amassed more than 1 million views on the platform.

According to Euronews, there are some rules for participating in the flirting technique. Customers aged 19 to 25 should stay in the frozen food section, customers aged 25 to 40 in the fish section and those over 40 in the wine section.

On Tiktok, users filmed their experiences in the market and played with the new trend. Will the trend catch on in Brazil?
