The complex brings together 2,443 apartments and numerous facilities
The grandeur of the Yick Cheong residential complex led to it becoming known as “Monster Building”. The nickname is not accidental. Located among the countless skyscrapers of Hong Kong, the architectural project brings together five blocks, for a total of 2,443 apartments and approximately 10,000 residents.

Built with windows virtually glued together, the idea behind the complex was to pack as many people into the space as possible given the region’s demographic growth over the past century.
Each of your blocks is given a name. Connected together, the Fook Cheong Building, Montane Mansion, Oceanic Mansion, Yick Cheong Building, and Yick Fat Building form the Yick Cheong Complex.
With its mix of colours – even if faded in many places -, the group of buildings has become a real tourist spot on the island southwest of China. The record posted on Instagram is almost certainly from someone who goes there.
The ‘Monster Building’ also became a stage for film and music culture. Transformers 4: Age of Extinctionand the clip Flight ticketsby singer Pharrell Williams, passed through the scene.
Today a postcard, the complex has already undergone significant changes compared to when it was opened in the 60’s. Named Yick Cheong, the development was launched as Park Estate.
Access for tourists and residents is also easy due to the location. On one of the main roads in Hong Kong, you can reach the building by tram, bus, subway, car or on foot.
However, anyone visiting the site must respect the privacy of residents and the space of traders. In the courtyard there are barbers, butchers, bars and countless other shops.
