Simple Homemade Whole Grain Bread Recipe with Oats and Cereals

The list of ingredients of homemade whole wheat bread includes traditional and wholemeal flours, common oats and bran, flax seeds, sesame and chia. From this combination comes a soft and healthy bread, perfect for any time of the day, especially accompanied by a cup of coffee.

Homemade Whole Wheat Bread

Time: 1h20 (+1h rest)

Performance: 20 servings

Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

  • 45g of fresh organic yeast
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 3 cups (tea) of warm water
  • 1 dessert spoon of salt
  • 2 and 1/3 cup (tea) of wheat flour
  • 2 and 1/3 cup (tea) of whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup oat bran
  • 4 tablespoons flax seeds
  • 4 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 4 tablespoons of chia
  • 4 tablespoons of oats
  • Oil and wheat flour for greasing
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing

Preparation method:

  1. In a bowl, mix the yeast and brown sugar until dissolved.
  2. Add the warm water and salt and then mix.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients until a smooth dough is formed.
  4. Arrange in two greased and floured English cake tins, leave to rest for 1 hour, brush with egg yolk and bake in a preheated medium oven for 40 minutes or until golden.
  5. Let it cool, turn it out and serve immediately.
