Creamy mashed potatoes with 2 ingredients: without milk, practical and economical, to accompany all the dishes you desire




A 2-ingredient mashed potato with seasonings, made with water, without milk and lactose, smooth, creamy and easy to prepare

Ingredients Dairy/lactose free mashed potatoes:

– 1 kg potatoes, peeled and cut into 1 finger thick slices

– 1 1/2 cups of potato cooking water or enough

– 2 tablespoons of olive oil

– salt to taste

– pepper to taste THE

– nutmeg to taste, grated (optional) THE

PREPARATION:

  1. Separate the ingredients and utensils for the recipe.
  2. Start by cooking the potatoes (see preparation).

PREPARATION:

Potatoes – Cooking:

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes and cut them into thick slices, about 1 finger thick.
  2. Place it in a pan, cover it with water and season with salt.
  3. Place over high heat and when it boils, lower the heat to medium and cook for about 20 minutes or until very soft.
  4. Drain them and keep the cooking water aside for the puree.

Lactose-free mashed potatoes:

  1. While still hot, pass the potatoes through a potato ricer for a more rustic puree or through a sieve for a creamier consistency, directly into the pan.
  2. Add the olive oil and mix well.
  3. Measure the reserved cooking water (see ingredients) and add half of it to the puree, mixing well.
  4. Salt, pepper and grate nutmeg to taste.
  5. Return the pan to the heat and gradually add the remaining cooking water, until the desired consistency is reached. Add more water if necessary.
  6. Cook, stirring constantly, until the puree is glossy and comes away from the bottom of the pan.
  7. Check the seasoning and adjust if necessary.

FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:

  1. Place the dairy/lactose free mashed potatoes on a serving dish or distribute directly onto plates, to accompany the main course.
